Posted by mom2mom on April 13, 2009

The mayor of Virginia Beach wants $10 million of federal porkulus stimulus funds to replenish sand on the oceanfront resort strip.  That’s YOUR money and MY money washed out to sea if the Obama administration approves it.  As of now this administration as well as the previous two administrations (Clinton and Bush) have deemed sand replenishment not eligible for federal funding.  Mayor Sessoms, however, is lobbying for an exception.  You can read all about it here:

Leaders urge Obama to use stimulus for beach sand

I’m encouraging everyone who can get out on April 15 (may be a different date in some cities) to attend a Tea Party in their area. To find a Tea Party in your area, go to the Tax Day Tea Party site.  For you locals in the South Hampton Roads area, a Tea Party will be held Wednesday 4/15 at the Virginia Beach Town Center Fountain Plaza, across the street from Senator Jim Webb’s office, from 11:00am – 1:00pm. For more details about the local effort, go to the Hampton Roads Tax Day Tea Party site.
