I know probably all of you moms out there have had comments made to you by strangers in public about your children or your pregnancy. I’ve had my share, too, considering I have four little ones and two are twins – twins are a big attention-getter (and higher-order multiples even more so)! After church today we all went out to eat lunch at a “cattle trough” (a buffet restaurant) along with my stepdaughter and her two children, ages 2yo and 5mo. So you can imagine we got a lot of looks and comments! Most people were kind and smiled at us and maybe made comments about “boy, your hands are full” and “you sure are blessed” and stuff like that, but an elderly man that was sitting in a table across from us said to my husband, “Boy, aren’t your hands full! BUT YOU ASKED FOR IT DIDN’T YOU!” My husband remarked, “You said that like it’s a bad thing!” I didn’t hear his response back, if any.
